THE ROLE

We are looking for an individual who is extremely passionate about software application/user interface design. You will be a ON A senior agile web development team. Central Desktop is a leading, well funded, business web collaboration platform/application. You can have the fastest/best technology in the word, but if the users have a hard time using "it", nothing matters.

• Are you obsessed with things like pixel padding/margins? Style inheritance?
• Can you extract the essence of a web page and redesign it so its more intuitive?
• How many ways do you know how to do rounded corners?
• Do you view clean HTML/CSS as a piece of art?
• Can you look at a static screenshot, cut it up and put it online in a matter of minutes?
• Do your eyes hurt when looking at myspace?
• Do you code or understand dynamic languages and how they interact with design?

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and develop next generation "Web 2.0" style business user interfaces.
• Support marketing efforts by designing Corporate Sites, Landing Pages, Marketing Collateral.

  REQUIRED SKILLS

• Expert knowledge of HTML/CSS
• Proven track record developing intuitive UI and scalable applications.
• Good working knowledge of JS/AJAX
• Working with JS frameworks such as Prototype/Scriptaculous, Ext JS, jQuery, etc... a big plus.
• Solid working knowledge of any dynamic programming language.
• Solid communication skills both verbal and written
• General good understanding of system administration and how all systems interact.
• Entrepreneurial drive.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Contribution to Open Source Projects a plus.

EXPECTED BACKGROUND

• Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent
• Ability to work with a small, agile, high-energy team
