Overview
Central to Amazon Web Services and Platform Services is the AWS on-demand billing service. This is a collection of systems that process billions of usage records, compute bills based on rules, pricing plans and pricing dimensions and manages customer payment settlement.
The team also owns systems that cover customer, seller of services, and service management subsystems. This team closely interacts with all AWS services which depend on AWS Platform systems.
AWSP team is looking for a strong, seasoned senior Program Manager. This is a key role within the AWS platform group.
You will have the unique opportunity to shape the future of our on-demand Billing and Payments systems.
You will work across multiple teams to define roadmaps, drive and coordinate the execution of challenging projects, dealing with complex and changing requirements.
You are exceptionally motivated, capable and driven to deliver. You will have demonstrated success in dealing with rapidly changing environments with a strong ability to prioritize.
You are a clear and precise communicator capable of producing excellent written documents and have a great ability to balance strategic thinking with strong execution and demonstrate delivery of high quality results.
Key Responsibilities
Drive continuous enhancements to the functionality, systems and processes of AWS on-demand Billing and Payments to support the growth of AWS business; these take the form of driving innovation through various channels – e.g., continuous innovation with the underlying architecture, new payment products/experiences, global initiatives, enablement of new business models, reduced cost of settlement, etc.
You will also own driving the development of roadmaps based on customer needs and overall AWS strategic direction.
You will help develop business cases and a prioritized lists of projects for development – work with all stakeholders including service teams, executive team, shared service-teams (e.g. legal, tax, accounting, payment processors) to document clear specifications; then work with development teams to deliver projects on time and budget.
Qualifications
- 4 - 6 years of experience as a Program/Product Manager in a technical organization, delivering customer-impacting solutions
- 2-3 years of that in senior/influencing leadership levels.
- Proven track record of defining and driving the delivery of large-scale transaction oriented systems with direct customer impact
- Experience in billing and payment processing is a plus.
- Proven, results-oriented person with a focus on delivery. Detail oriented, yet able to look at a wide array of choices & identify what truly matters.
- Excellent presentation and written communication skills. Maturity, judgment, negotiation/influence skills, and leadership skills essential to successful program/project management.
- High level of motivation, independence, teamwork, and achievement required
- Bachelor’s degree with a CS background or related discipline desired; MBA a plus.
