As a Systems Administrator you will be working with a talented team monitoring alerts, resolving tickets and responding to customer requests. Working on diverse environments you will have an opportunity to keep your skill sets fresh and learn new ones. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of enterprise software products and experience managing a wide range of software on multiple platforms.
Job Responsibilities:
- Configuration and administration of diverse systems running primarily Windows and Linux server operating systems
- Respond and resolve Tier II tickets while maintaining excellent customer service. Tickets may include (request for information, hardware utilization/failures, application operation and application/os/hardware configuration changes etc.)
- Document customer environments, solutions and procedures
- Maintain network and system security
- Ensure stability, redundancy, and fault tolerance for a variety of architectures
- Proactively monitor hosted solutions and respond to system and application alerts
- Work with clients to implement system changes and resolve issues
- Articulate technical concepts to a variety of audiences including customers, developers, administrators, and sales representatives
- Assist Tier I employees to resolve escalated tickets, alerts, and customer calls
- Participate in regular on-call rotation
Job Requirements:
Must have general to intermediate knowledge of:
- System administration skills (Windows and Linux)
- Web server installation and configuration (Apache & IIS)
- Network security principles and implementation
- DNS configuration and troubleshooting
- Load Balancing
- Network topology and protocol familiarity (IP, VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP)
- Ability to translate functional requirements into technical project specifications
- Ability to multitask, assess and prioritize quickly
- Possess a high sense of urgency and commitment to customer service
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Availability to work various shifts and rotate on-call duties
